Release dates are deceptively hard. Games that feel contemporary are often a decade old, and remasters muddy the water further by putting a modern coat of paint on something that originally shipped years earlier.
This mode judges by the original launch, never the re-release. That distinction is where most streaks end: a famous title you associate with a recent console may well have debuted two generations before.
The span runs from the NES era to current open-world releases, so it doubles as a tour through four decades of gaming history.
Things worth knowing
- Judged by original launch, never the remaster
- Spans the NES era to the present day
- Ties always count as correct
How it works
You are shown two items side by side. One reveals its number; the other hides it behind a question mark. Decide whether the hidden value is higher or lower, and every correct call extends your streak. One wrong guess ends the run. If the two values are equal the answer counts as correct either way, so a tie never costs you anything. The game is free, runs entirely in your browser, and needs no account.
