About Higher or Lower

A free, fast, no-nonsense trivia game spanning video games, film, books, geography, space and more.

What the game is

Higher or Lower shows you two things at a time. One reveals a statistic — copies sold, critic score, population, horsepower — and the other hides it. You decide whether the hidden number is higher or lower, and every correct call extends your streak. One wrong guess ends the run, so every decision counts. It is the kind of game you start during a coffee break and somehow finish twenty rounds later.

Why we built it

We love the strange, surprising facts hiding in plain sight: the quiet indie that outsold a blockbuster, the moon that is bigger than a planet, the centuries-old novel still outselling modern bestsellers. Higher or Lower turns those facts into a quick, replayable challenge that works on any device, with no install and no account.

Where the data comes from

Figures are drawn from publicly available sources and are intended as approximate, for-entertainment values. Because the game only ever compares the relative order of two numbers, small differences in the exact figure never make a round unfair. Artwork shown on the cards is loaded from Wikipedia for illustration, and all titles and artwork remain the property of their respective owners.
